Ever since the other day when I posted about saying yes these images have been in my head.
We will be called ‘oaks of righteousness.’
Hope is so sweet. Jesus came to give us hope. He thought of Isaiah 61 as His calling and His mandate.
To bind up the brokenhearted. To proclaim freedom for the captives. To release prisoners form darkness.
For our ashes He’ll give us beauty. For our mourning, gladness. For our despair, a garment of praise.
And we will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.
Father, for your splendor.
There is a song that I learned about a year ago at a conference some friends and I went to. I love to sing this song because it reminds me of who I want to be.
I want to be like a tree, planted by the streams of living water.
I want to be unmoveable, unshakable, let me roots go down deep. I want to be unmoveable, unshakeable in you.
So Jesus, let my roots go deep into your love. Let me be planted in the center of your will. Let my heart beat for the things that your heart beats for. Let me display your splendor. May the seedling that you’ve planted in my heart grow beautiful and majestic. May I be rooted in your love. And Jesus. . . yes.
